The Orange County Department of Education has three main components to providing Professional Development.
Webinars
The first step to getting involved with your professional development here at the Orange County Department of Education is to participate in one of our FREE webinars. These are internet-based informational courses that give you insight into the instructors and the information that will be presented. All of the webinars are held Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. Make sure you register first for the session you would like to take to acquire the password to get into your session. On the day of your course, stop by classrooms.ocde.us to log into the OCDE Free Webinar and apply your password. Then sit back, relax, and ask questions from anywhere. Do not worry if you miss the presentation. They are recorded so that you can watch them at a later date. We look forward to seeing you online.

Face To Face Professional Development
Daytime, evening, and weekend classes are offered in the OCDE Mac and PC labs, and in other locations countywide. The schedule is organized and promoted on an ongoing basis, making this cost effective program an opportunity for any educator in Orange County to receive world class professional development in the use of educational technology.
The entire curriculum is focused on integrating technologies into standards-based instruction, with a particular focus on enhancing student achievement through context-embedded, inquiry-driven, and socially-negotiated learning. Particular sessions are focused on individual applications, equipment, or academic content areas. Professional developers are either members of the OCDE Educational Technology Department, or other local specialists. All of them are certified K-12 teachers, and all of them are committed to inspiring innovation in education

Online Instruction
As we begin to develop more of our courses they will eventually be offered in an online environment to connect you with more professional development at anytime.
