CTAP Services

The California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) is a statewide educational technology leadership initiative, providing assistance to schools and districts in integrating technology into teaching and learning. CTAP provides and coordinates effective statewide and regional educational technology services to implement legislation and to address local needs and support California's content standards, curriculum frameworks, and assessment system. Orange County collaborates with San Diego County and Imperial County to provide these services. CTAP funding supports assistance in key component areas; staff development; technical assistance; learning resources; hardware and telecommunication infrastructure; school management; coordination with federal, state, and local programs and funding.

Orange County CTAP provides a wide variety of professional development services. These include hands-on classes, workshops, and institutes offered in county training labs. The department also delivers custom training services to school and district sites. Teachers can achieve preliminary and professional level technology proficiency certification, and administrators can receive training through our AB 75 and Principal Academy programs. Special local projects include Distance Learning, Interactive Videoconferencing, Stellar Technology High School and Orange County Animation Project. Program updates are available through the Educational Technology Website.
